Drake SW2 - worth the price ?

can anyone give me some information on this rig, I can get a used one but do not know if it is worth the price .

It looks like SW-2s have gone for between $300-400 on eBay. It is probably OK as a radio, but you might want to Google around the web a bit to see if anyone who has one has commented about their likes and dislikes.

Also, this page has some information. They quote appoximately $300 as the used price:

Meanwhile I found some info at kiwa for better filter and a detailed report at radio netherlands pages http://www2.rnw.nl/rnw/en/features/medi ... s/sw2.html which in some cases was much too technical for me but was helpful anyway .

I can get the receiver for 240 $ so i guess i will go for it as the report from R Netherlands seems to be quiet good for this amount of money .

A personal report from someone is helpful everytime of course .

www.eHam.net has a lot of good user reviews on about everything. I recommend that before anyone buys a SW receiver, check out what people are saying about it.
