My trip to Bellevue, Washington

Postby NW7US » Sun Jul 23, 2006 8:43 pm

Hot! That's what it has been for the last three days. Record breaking temperatures have been observed in areas around where I have been staying.

I am here in Bellevue, Washington -- not at my home. I am here on a trip because I had surgery this last Wednesday. (The surgery is my seventh -- see my News page ( http://hfradio.org/news.html )). I am staying at an apartment that I've been allowed to use while having the surgery and recovery.

The heat according to my observations reached 103d F. That's pretty hot! It is higher than the airport observation, but, it is what we have here in the concrete and city environment.

I've tried to tune in shortwave, but the heat makes doing ANYTHING a bit of a drag! I've also done some trunk-tracking scanning. Lots of heat-related activity on the scanner.

So, how has YOUR holiday gone?
